Israel Outdoor Activities in a Goat Cheese Farm and Restaurant in the Negev highland near Sde Boker.
About Us:
Anat and Daniel Kornmehl, graduates of the Faculty of Agricultural Science, Hebrew University, created the Kornmehl farm in October 1997. Daniel Kornmehl acquired his experience as a cheese maker in Israel and in France.
Daniel places emphasis on keeping traditional values of cheese making, while adapting them to the local environment, creates cheeses that are personal interpretations of famous French varieties.
Anat and Daniel believe that the health of their goats and the quality of their milk, antibiotic and hormone free, comes from the permanent attention that they give to the goats' living conditions and good food.
About The Place:
Situated among magical views of the desert hills with a nice weather all year round, the farm faces remnants of terraces belonging to an ancient farm from the Middle Bronze period (3000-4000 BC).
The goats are milked twice a day in the milking parlor and then the milk is transferred to the dairy that was built by the couple.
About The Restaurant:
The dishes are basis on the variety of the cheeses from the dairy according to the season. Some of the cheeses are made especially as a high quality raw material for the use of the restaurant kitchen only
The development of the menu was as a follow up to the house cooking, with the emphasis of using local made and fresh ingredients. The pastry bakes daily.
All dishes are personal size, served according to preparation time

How To Reach The Farm:
The Kornmehl farm is located on the northern side of road 40, approximately two kilometers after the Tlalim Junction in the direction of Sde Boker. The Kornmehl farm is located in the area referred to as “The Wine Route”.
What else is there to do in the area?
In our farm- You can watch the morning milk (8:30 every morning in the milking season)
Ein Avdat is nearby where you can hike or have a bikes tour.
Our farm is only 10 minutes from Ben Gurion's hut in Sde Boker, and 30 minutes from Mitzpe Ramon where you can visit the Ramon Crater or the factory for cosmetic products made from special oils.. We will be happy to recommend other attractions in the area.
Opening Hours: The restaurant is open all days of the week except for Mondays ( on holidays we are open every day of the week) 10:00-18:00. There is no need for prior coordination. You are always welcome! :)

We stopped here with a group of 30 persons for a special goat cheese lunch menu. It was a great experience. Because it was raining sideways we had to sit inside, but we all fit in and it was quite cozy. The courses kept coming, different kinds of home cooked goat cheese specialties warm and cold. It was a delicious and the owner is very friendly.

What a lovely surprise on the desert road from mitzpe ramon to beer sheva. Cozy place offers superb goat cheese products and foods. Highly recommended to stop here if you're passing by. The store is nice too!
