Who are we?

For over 14 years, VacationKey has been selecting private property owners as well as trustworthy agencies for you. They manage properties for both short-term stays and vacation rentals. The VacationKey.com platform put travelers and owners in contact by providing an online booking service. The owners are in charge of updating their listing information as well as their rates and availability calendar.

How it works?

In only 3 clicks, you can choose the property you are interested in and book directly online. We offer you 2 options:

1) Instant booking: On every listing, you can access instantly to the rates and availability calendar corresponding to the dates of your stay. You simply need to place an option along with a 10 to 15% deposit (depending on the listing). The owner or agency has 24 hours to confirm or refuse the option. Once the option is validated, you will receive all the reservation details and contact information of the owner to finalize the booking. However, if the property is no longer available (which is very rare), you can accept a similar offer or decide to get a full refund for the deposit.

2) Contact the owner first: Many properties are unique, which attracts many users who can make a reservation just minutes before you do. In this case, you can click the « Contact » button to contact the owner and wait for confirmation. You will then be able to pay the 10 to 15% deposit. After reception of the deposit, you will receive all the reservation details and contact information of the owner to finalize the booking.

Terms & conditions of the stay

The terms and conditions are described by the owner on the rental agreement. If a specific information is missing from the online listing, feel free to contact the owner over any request (disabled access, animals authorization…)

The owner or agent in charge of the property will welcome you on the D-day and hand you the keys in. You will keep in touch during your stay, if necessary.

Check in: After the online booking, you will automatically receive an e-mail with the contact information of the owner or the agent and all the details regarding the arrival procedure. The host usually welcomes you on the afternoon, but feel free to ask for a different time.
Check out: Check-out is usually from 10 to 12 AM in order for the cleaning staff to clean the property. However, you may leave later: You must contact the owner about these kinds of arrangements.

Payment & Deposit

Rental payment conditions vary according to the owner. Some will require a payment up to 30 to 35% of the total cost upon arrival. Others will require this payment up to 30 days before arrival. These preferences can be found on the online listing. Most owners will accept payments by bank transfer and others will prefer cash. These elements are to be defined directly with the owner or the agent.

You will be asked for a deposit before or upon your arrival. This deposit will cover eventual damages, and it can either be payed by credit card or cash. The refund method varies according to the owner or the agent.
The tourist tax is not generally included in the total price.

NB: Remember to check if your home insurance covers leisure damages. If not, you can contact your insurance and ask for it. Many owners will require this insurance certificate.

Cancellation policy

The cancellation policy also varies according to the owner or the agent. You need to verify any information and policy you previously discussed with the advertiser.
Regarding to the 10 to 15% commission received by VacationKey, the refund policies are the following:

* you can get a full refund in the 48 hours following the payment in case of owner’s refusal (unless this deposit is transferred to another reservation on another property)
* you can get a full refund if the problem was caused by the owner and the platform could not find a replacement vacation.
* If you cancel your booking, You will lose the down payment only (10 to 15% depending on the listing). (Check with your travel insurance)

Responsability

Our platform’s role is to put travelers and advertisers in contact. We cannot be held responsible for any incident that could happen before or during your stay. It then falls into the hands of both parties - the advertiser and the traveller. However, VacationKey can act as a mediator if necessary. info@vacationkey.com

This website is owned and operated by Vacation Key Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "VKC"). By using this Website, you agree to these terms and conditions of use. If you do not agree to all provisions of these site terms, do not use this website.

1. The descriptive text contained in the "registration form" with the photographs will be displayed on the site during a six-month or a one-year period commencing the first day of appearance on the site. Prices for ads are noted on each registration form. See the “list your property” section.

2. The advertiser must fill in the "registration form" as honestly as possible and describe the accommodation as it really is. It is the advertiser's responsibility to inform Vacation Key Corp. of any substantial change in the data regarding the advertisement (availability, change of email address / telephone number...) Erroneous data or recurring omissions may result in the interruption of advertisement on our website.

3. You are responsible for your use of the Services, for any content or photos you post to the Services .With the participation of our service, you give us the permission to publish your pictures on our website, and the permission to take it on your website if necessary.

4. Vacation Key Corp.'s responsibility is limited to offering information concerning offers on our vacationkey.com website in conformity with the "registration forms" that are submitted to the corporation and rigorously screened for selection. The corporation will not intervene, under no circumstances, in the relations between the renter and the tenant. We therefore advise the parties to sign a leasing agreement. VKC is not a Party to any Rental transactions between users of the Site.
We are also not responsible for the condition of the vacation properties and any of the services, products listed on our Site or the compliance with laws, rules or regulations that may be applicable to any vacation rental property, service or product in any jurisdiction.

5. As a member, you are entitled to modify, rectify, correct or delete these data (article 34 of the French law "computers and rights"). For these purposes, please contact our services .

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which vacation key corp collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the info@vacationkey.com website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Vacation Key Corp.

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, subscribe to the newsletter, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

Vacation Key Corp collects and uses Users personal information for the following purposes:

Advertising

Ads appearing on our site may be delivered to Users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. Some of the ads may be served by Google. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to Users based on their visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet.
