If you can draw yourself away from the house, there are boats available to hire from the village of Sireuil (2kms), there is Kayaking and a river beach within 5kms or you can have bikes delivered to the house. There is golf (15kms) and a visit to the very pretty towns of Angouleme (15kms) and Cognac (30kms) famous for its distilleries are a must. And if you have time, try a day out at the coast too, 90kms away.
