Stayed August 2016 : I've been to a ton of places in the Caribbean and by far this was the nicest place I've stayed in regards to accommodations. The villas were spacious & automated with Luvitron lighting which was awesome you could set the mood for romance. Music was piped throughout. The rainfall shower, garden tub and outdoor shower made you never want to leave or figure out a way to build an exact replica back in the states. The waitstaff was amazing as was the food. Mariem is the concierge & made sure everything I needed for my stay was perfecto. Kinney was an awesome bartender at the pool (the Bahama mama was delish) Lou & Wing drove me around in the golf cart in town to help me get some much needed travelers checks cashed & even helped me select a nice bottle of rum. I left feeling like I had made friends for life. Am looking on calendar now to book next years adventure!

Stayed Feb 2017 : After 4 legs and many hours in airports traveling from Alaska, El Secreto was a welcome oasis. The perfect place to unwind and completely relax. We only stayed 2 nights anticipating that we would be closer to town later in the vacation to take advantage of local flair. Sunbathing, swimming in the amazing pool, and walking the beach were the extent of our activities and that was perfection. If you are looking to get away in a beautiful remote location and simply relax. You can't do any better.
