Stayed September 2016 : We are here at this resort during low season, which is also the wet season. We are here to dive and relax and to learn all we can about Belize and Ambergris Caye. The property has 42 casitas (little houses) suitable for 2 or 3 people, no more. The casitas are all painted in fresh pastel colors, quite pretty. They are arranged along 3 long interconnecting walkways, so all casitas get some nice trade winds. We are in a casita in air conditioning, it runs well and keeps us cool. No problems. The kitchenette is basic but functional. We have a tea kettle, toaster, microwave, mini fridge, and sink with drain board attached. All equipment is functioning well, keeping our drinks cold, microwave is nice for a quick bowl of oatmeal. There are cups, saucers, bowls, plates and utensils for 2 or 3 people. The living area is about 12 x 14 feet. It has seating for 3, a love seat and chair, a coffee table and side table. The TV is a 33 inch flat screen with 50 or 60 channels. We also have excellent WIFI available all of the property. There are sufficient outlets for computers and camera gear. The bedroom consists of a very large armoire and a queen size platform bed. Some casitas have the queen bed against a window so that another twin bed can be kept against the opposite wall. The bedroom is not a separate room, but it is divided from the living/kitchenette area by a high wall. The bathroom has a large shower with a seat, a sink with mirror and lights and a toilet. Everything is in good working condition. The first casita we were in had an issue with the hot water in the shower, so they moved us quickly to another casita so they can do the maintenance needed. The staff is very attentive to our needs and focused on the maintenance of the property. We have had 3 meals so far at the outdoor bar/restaurant. The meals are usual American type fare and some Belizean traditional meals. They have a guitar playing singer on the weekends from lunch to dinner, he's got a nice medley of songs. The pool is very large, 25 x 60 at least, and is an oval shape with 2 shallow areas at either end and a deeper section in the middle. The dive school uses the pool for teaching people various scuba classes. The dive shop, Belize Dive School, is awesome. They take care of us well, aim to please. We are conservative divers, not much below 60-70 feet, and they are attentive to our preferences. Lots of marine life here. There was a major thunderstorm that came through in the night and this morning the water was almost like glass. The reef is a 5 minute boat ride from the dock. We both see this resort as a great find for divers who don't need all the frills, just the comforts of home. Considering the location and the price, this is an excellent value.
