Belize villa vacation rentals / 5 or 6 bedrooms / beachfront at Ambergris Caye   (2)

So this was a family trip and there was 10 of us staying in the house. The house was plenty big enough but was lacking in some areas. First off the mosquitos were horrible, the worst I had ever seen. We were all eaten up pretty good. There was spray but it needed some help, no candles or anything to help keep them away. Second there were not enough towels and hand towels for the week we stayed. We had to reuse them and the house was very bare. We did have it stocked which was great German and his helper Edgar were awesome when it came to getting us anything we needed. We did 2 excursions with them and it was the best! The sea life was fantastic and they knew where to take us for great fishing and lunch on the beach. The house does sit way off the so called road, it's awful and you are 25-30 mins away from town. If you want seclusion this house is perfect, if you want to be close to town and night life it's way to far. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. It's far out and just lacked as far as having any just plain cleaning supplies to wipe off counters or spray down after cleanup. The pool was great, and the grounds keeper came every morning and cleaned out beach and took care of the pool, that was nice. It's a beautiful area just way the hell out there! 01/27/2016

Stayed: September 2016 We stayed at this villa in September. We were a group of 12 adults celebrating a few 40th birthdays. The house was perfect! We each had our own bedroom and the large dining room table was perfect for some great mealtime fun. We felt like we had our own island – the house was remote enough that we never heard neighbors and never had to worry about disturbing neighbors. We couldn’t get used to waking up to the view of the sea every day out the many windows. The pictures don’t do it justice. We felt like royalty arriving with the grandiose architecture with chandelier lights. One bedroom has its own private balcony, which serendipitously, worked out well for one of the more reclusive members of the group who enjoyed reading and bird watching while we were doing our standard activity - hanging in the pool with cocktails. German and Edgar were great. We asked German to stock the house with some basics (beer, mixers, breakfast stuff), which was very handy. We also did two day excursions with German one day snorkeling at the marine park close to the house and another fishing and beach barbeque. I highly recommend going out with German – he was amazing with the boat and knew all the best places to go. I also recommend having German’s wife cook her stewed chicken. We had that arranged the night we arrived and it was nice to just relax at the house after the day’s travel. We were talking about booking the house again for our 50th birthdays, but now we’re thinking we need an excuse to come back much sooner!
