Beach house located in Kenya’s South Coast, in a quiet and idyllic section of Galu Beach - part of the larger Diani Beach area. The house is only 230 metres from the tropical Indian Ocean known for its pristine, turquoise warm waters and white sandy beaches.
The villa was conceived and designed to be a luxurious home by the beach. It incorporates a contemporary Swahili design - perfect for Kenyan coastal living. The furniture and décor were created using traditional Swahili carving techniques and designs derived from 800 years of interaction between Arabs, Indians and Europeans with the coastal communities. The sloping terracotta-tiled roof displays an architectural influence from Japan and China, adding a delicate touch to the house.
This charming 4-bedroom villa provides spacious living areas and is set within its own compound surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Being tucked away in its own garden, it gives a sense of privacy to our guests.
There are 4 air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms, living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchen, private swimming pool and terrace.
The stylish, open plan dining and living room overlooks the swimming pool and exterior lounge area and flows seamlessly from one to the other. The idea is that in the tropical warmth of the Kenyan coast, opening the inside of the house to the outside seems logical and desirable. The living/dining/lounge room spaces also create a practical environment for relaxing and entertainment- a common feature found in Swahili homes.
The house has large windows for light and airflow and to further enhance the indoor-outdoor vistas. Thick coral-stone walls finished with a smooth decorative stucco plaster, high ceilings and fans ensure that the interiors remain cool and even in the hottest months.
BEDROOMS
There are 4 spacious bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The house can accommodate 8-9 guests comfortably.
One tastefully decorated bedroom with king-size bed, mosquito net, AC, fan and study table, is on the ground floor overlooking the garden and swimming pool. The upper floor has three bedrooms. The master bedroom at the front has a king-size bed with mosquito net, en-suite bathroom with shower and bath tub, walk-in dressing room, AC, ceiling fan and features its own private balcony overlooking the lush gardens.
The other two bedrooms also boast private en-suites. One is ideal for kids with a bunk bed plus a single bed with mosquito nets, AC, ceiling fan, while the other has a king-size bed with mosquito net, a long study table, AC, ceiling fan and looks out to the gorgeous garden and swimming pool.

What a great place to stay! Lovely setting and so nice to have access to our own pool as well as the communal pool and ocean. We enjoyed strolling the brief walk on the beach to the salty squid and taking a tuk tuk for shopping. The staff was wonderful - so accommodating of our 1 year old. They brought her a taller chair for dinner and made sure her baby cot worked well for us etc. The chef cooked delicious seafood meals on our early baby schedule. All in all, it was a wonderful place to stay!
