At 55 min. from Paris by TGV and 10 miles from TOURS, Claudine Detilleux welcomes you to the Herissaudiere castle, surrounded by all the famous castles and vineyards in the Loire Valley.

In the year 1640 , according to legend , a comfortable manor house , l’Hérissaudière , was built in the valley of the “Chateaux de la Loire “,
on the ruins of one of the hunting lodges of Diane de Poitiers (c.1550), the king’s lover.
Today , the domain spreads over seven hectares , where wild cyclamens
grow in the shade of century-old sequoias .
The house is built of tuff , the noble stone used for the chateaux de la Loire,
and is graced with a beautiful terrace , on which you may enjoy breakfasts and drinks on specially fragrant evenings .
The castle is decorated in the upmost classical French style, each room being unique.
Numerous facilities in the receptions rooms are well suited to chatting , listening to music , watching TV, playing cards or reading books in the wide library with a huge fireplace.The whole castle’s air conditioned.

The three suites and the two bedrooms , overlooking the park, each with private bathroom and toilets, will enable you to savour the gentle way of life of this so special place. One of the rooms , located on the ground floor , is accessible for the disabled .

Nearly there are : riding school and horse-riding in the country and woods .
Two excellent 18-hole golf courses .

Walking trips and cycling on hired bicycles , along the Loire (we supply with maps).

The resources of the area are countless and every one is more and less nearby :
- on the West : chateaux of Langeais, Villandry,Ussé, Chinon, Brézé,Montsoreau, Saumur, Fontevrault abbay, etc….
- on the East : Tours, Amboise, Chenonceau,, Blois, Chambord, Loches.

You may enjoy wine tasting ( white wines of Vouvray & Montlouis, red ones of Chinon & Bourgueil), visit the most famous French gardens « a la française » (Villandry, Valmer, Chenonceau, Saint Côme,etc…), or even visit caves, troglodyte houses, or large art and craft museums.
Let us not forget gastronomy . In the neighbourhood , you can choose between one of the most famous restaurants in France , and excellent smaller country places with regional cooking .
