stayed Feb 2016 We stayed with our grown-up family in Feb/Mar 2016 and found the house quiet and relaxing. It is big and spacious, and pleasantly cool when the shutters are open, except for the upstairs bedroom which gets hot during the day - but this room has air con if you need it. We found that overnight that bedroom cools and we never used the air con., just the fans was enough. Our favourite space was the verandah, which has plenty of room and is shaded - a lovely place to enjoy looking at the trees and birds whatever the weather. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are all fine and the management made sure we had wifi. The location is good if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Viejo, which can generally be reached by walking along the beautiful Playa Negra beach (depending on the tide!) The local facilities are great. the Point is ten minutes walk away, on the beach, and does good food and great beers. The Banana Azul hotel is just a few minutes away, also on the beach, and is very happy to welcome casual visitors to use its bar, its super restaurant and other facilities (eg bikes and beach loungers) - you can have the best of both worlds, home and hotel! We all had a great time and will definitely go back.
