Barbados Villa Vacation rentals 5 bedroom beachfront with private pool in St. Philip Dawlish Beach.
The Villa is an impeccably restored plantation-style house that was built over hundred years ago and which has been a Barbadian family home owned by the same family for the past twenty years. The house is set on over two acres of beautiful lawns and gardens with almost 300 feet of ocean frontage. The entire property is enclosed and has an electronic entrance gate and a small gate to the sea front. It is extremely private and offers a peaceful setting that invites you to relax on its grand verandahs and admire its glorious island vistas and dramatic ocean views. While the property provides all the modern facilities, which are required by discerning vacationers, the old world character of the villa has been carefully preserved.
The Villa has five bedrooms and sleeps up to ten people. The lower floor consists of a formal dining room, large kitchen, one bedroom, and one bathroom and wrap-around verandahs with patio furniture for relaxing in the breeze overlooking the sea, pool or tennis court. The dining room is a definite reminder of those regal days with a wonderful antique mahogany dining table that seats twelve, mahogany antique sideboards, and a crystal chandelier. With high ceilings and glass panel doors that open our to the lawns facing the ocean and tennis court, the dining room catches the ocean breezes and is a magnificent setting for either formal or more relaxed meals enjoyed by large families or groups of friends. The well-equipped kitchen with granite countertops opens out onto the ocean front verandah, which is only a short distance from the sparkling freshwater swimming pool. The bedroom on this floor faces the ocean and has two single beds. Adjacent to the downstairs bedroom, there is a full bathroom with a shower.
The upper floor has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the back verandah is the living space with push-out shutters and a French door leading out to the covered upstairs wrap-around verandah. This is a tastefully decorated sitting area where guests may relax and watch television or just sit and chat. This verandah also has a bar, an informal dining area that seats eight, and a fully equipped kitchen, which makes it unnecessary to even go down the stairs to the main kitchen.
The bedrooms all look out over the pool and ocean. The master bedroom, with a king-size bed, has an en-suite bathroom, which adjoins a small bedroom with two single beds. The other two bedrooms on this floor have a king and a full sized bed respectively and share the second bathroom.
The verandah overlooking the ocean on the upper level is ideal for enjoying the splendid view of the pool, tennis court, expansive lawns and gardens, and ocean - a perfect setting for sipping cocktails and enjoying the moonlight in the evenings. There is comfortable teak and wicker outdoor furniture on this verandah.
The pool deck is slightly raised and gated making her child friendly. There are chaise longues and Adironack chairs around the pool and a covered gazebo where guests may have lunch or dinner at the large round table which seats ten and overlooks the pool, which can be lighted at night. There is also a brick barbeque grill on the deck for easy outdoor cooking and a gas barbeque is also available. The Villa has its own tennis court and tennis lessons with a pro can usually be organized at a reasonable extra cost.
Many of Barbados' finest beaches are within a five-minute drive of the property and Dawlish Beach and Falmouth Beach are within easy walking distance.
If more accommodation is required the old coach house that is less than 100 yards from the Villa within the fenced property has been tastefully converted into a three-bedroom cottage. The coach house has been finished with hardwood floors, travertine tiles, granite counter tops, and coral stone rendering and ruble stone walls, which preserve the old world character of the property.
The cottage features a full-size antique billiards table and tastefully designed bar with a wine cooler, small fridge and microwave below. The billiards room has double French doors opening out to the lawns, allowing the room to catch the fresh breeze blowing in off the ocean. There is one double bedroom downstairs and two double bedrooms upstairs that open on to covered balconies that overlook the ocean. All three bedrooms have air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Upstairs there is a sitting area with cable TV and a large flat-screen Apple computer in an alcove with Internet access. There is original artwork hanging in the coach house and the bedrooms have been furnished to a high standard. The coach house, which sleeps six, is only available for rent along with the main house.

We stayed over the Christmas period and my sister had her wedding reception there. We have come to the island many years now but only ever frequented the West coast so this was a lovely change for us. The East coast is definitely more calm and private and noteably very breezy which makes it much more bearable when lying out in the hot sun. It was a nice change for us and a wonderful experience altogether. The house itself was beautiful. A huge big plot of land on a cliff overlooking the sea, the perfect place for a wedding. If you are thinking of getting married here I would highly recommend it. There's many things you can do with the space and it is very scenic. It is so private and stunning it gives you the feeling of being on your own island. A truly tranquil dream like space that could not be more perfect for an event like a wedding. As for the houses themselves, the cottage is notably more modern than the main house and is probably more for the younger party goers. It is smaller however it is that little bit more luxurious than the main house. The main house has two kitchens one on each floor which made it handy for those mid night ventures to the fridge. The rooms have high ceilings and are very comforable. There is a beautiful dining room and a stunning balcony going all the way around the house. I was at first very weary when I saw the toilet windows were not glassed but more like shutters and I feared this would let loose any creepy crawly into the house that wanted to. However I was relieved and surprised to find that besides the odd lizard the house was practically bug free and that includes mosquitos. I don't have many complaints about the place besides two things, we had some problems with the wifi. You could only get it in one part of the house and even then it was very slow and didn't work for everyone. One day it stopped entirely so we had a technician sent out to try fix the problem, however it didn't seem to get much better so perhaps looking into this more before new guest arrive is something you should put on your list! Having said that it did also make the trip a little nicer not having the wifi as it stopped us all from being on our phones constantly and we were forced to enjoy eachothers company and the trip. The second complaint isn't really much of a complaint more just a suggestion! There isn't any air con in the main house but there is in the cottage. It is breezy enough to bear but I just found a fan didn't cut it at night and I would suggest investing in air con in the bedrooms just to make it that little bit more comfortable. I would also recommend a car when staying here so you can drive to more thriving areas on the island when you feel you want a bit more action. I would not recommend eating in the Crane hotel, it is very overpriced and terribly slow service. I mean ridiculously slow! However do go to the hotel and lie on the beach it is stunning and definitely worth the visit. One of those places you can't miss when visiting Barbados. There are other places to eat nearby which we found pleasant like Cutters and a little bar up from crane across the road. Myself and my family and the entire wedding party had a wonderful time, it was definitely a memory that will stay with us forever. One of the greats! The House made our time there so special and I would highly recommend this place. It is definitely one of the more beautiful spots on the island which we now regard as very senitmental to us. A beautiful island, a beautiful place, a wonderful experience. I would like to thank Ronald Stoutes and the home owners for everything and for helping to make our time there so fantastic.
