Le Relais

Jean Louis and Nola his australian wife are wine growers and would be pleased to rent you one of their 4 renovated self catering cottages.

Jean Louis and his daughter Andréa will be happy to answer questions on Chateau La Gontrie and to share with you their passion for wine.

The 4 cottages are situated in a property of 11ha surrounded by the vineyards and the forest .

Château la Gontrie offers a peaceful holiday home, less than 20 minutes drive from Bordeaux and 800m from the local village and shops.

The house is part of the main building. The ground floor has a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, an electric stove with induction heating, freezer, microwave & electric kettle. A cellar with washing machine & separate toilet. Large living, dining room with sofa & flat screen TV & DVD.

On the first floor a double bedroom (1.6m x 2m) with ensuite (italian shower system). A twin bedroom (2mx1m bed x 2) with ensuite (italian shower system). The twin beds can be joined to make a double bed if needed (2mx2m).

The Relais has a natural cooling system, called either Canadian Well or Puit Provençal which ensures a cool temperature through the summer and extra heating in the winter.


There is a private garden, separated by hedges from the other building, garden, table and chairs and a barbecue for the summer.


The cottage is equipped with wi-fi internet access.

The swimming pool (12 x 6m) is shared between the 4 cottages. It is secured by a large fenced off area and the gate has a child proof lock.

Guests have free access to the entire property which includes, 1 ha of garden, 3 ha of vineyards and 3 ha of forest.

Volley ball, badminton, table tennis, french bowls and bicycles are available free of charge.

An old train track transfomed into a cycling track runs a few kms away and goes on for 55km , on which you will discover the region of the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux and the Entre Deux Mers.

A horse riding center situated in Sadirac (10km) can initiate beginners, or take you to discover the area.

A nautic center situated at less than 3 km provides courses in wakeboard or water sking (see link)

Two golfs (18 holes) 30 and 45 mins.

"Tepacap" leasure center in the trees , between 3 and 12 meters from the ground (www.tepacap.fr).
Arcachon with the sand dune of the Pyla 110 meters high, lacanau on the Atlantique , surfing spot , are both 60 mins .
