White River Lodge

Nestled in a peaceful country setting, this owner-managed boutique hotel is situated on the secure estate of White River Country Estate, just outside White River, in the Mpumalanga province. Overlooking the first green of White River's 18-hole golf course, our “home away from home” environment allows guests to experience the marriage of sophisticated Austrian style with African warmth and hospitality.
The hotel offers tailor-made accommodation in upscale rooms, with options for families. The hotel restaurant offers mouth-watering à la carte continental dishes. Our wine cellar is an intimate venue where you can enjoy our renowned raclette and fondue, accompanied by fine South African wines.
The wellness and beauty center offers massages, facial and body treatments, manicures, pedicures and waxing services.
Rooms :
1. 2 X Exclusive standard rooms
All our exclusive standard rooms are individually furnished and feature a king-size bed, which can be converted into twin beds on request (+/- 45 m2). They are equipped with digital TV, telephone, minibar with snacks, air conditioning, heating, coffee and tea-making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes. The bathrooms are all equipped with separate shower and bathtub, heated towel rails and luxury toiletries. We also offer a family unit in this category.

2. 4 X Luxury rooms
Our five deluxe rooms, each around 75 m2, are all located next to the main hotel building, overlooking the pool or golf course. All rooms are individually furnished and feature a comfortable sitting area in front of a fireplace and spacious, private patios, which offer stunning views of the gardens and golf course. The spacious en-suite bathrooms feature double vanity units, separate showers, corner baths and private toilets. All are equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi connection, minibar with snacks, air conditioning, heating, tea and coffee-making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes. An additional adult or child can be accommodated in this room type.

3. 2 Xecutive suites
Our two executive suites are located on the 1st floor of the building adjacent to the main hotel. These luxuriously furnished rooms (100 m2 each) feature spacious, private balconies offering stunning views of the gardens, pool, golf course and surrounding area. The suites feature an entrance hall with guest toilet, separate living room and bedroom with fireplace.

En-suite bathrooms feature double vanity units, indoor and outdoor showers, corner baths and separate toilets. All are equipped with digital TV, telephone, minibar with snacks, air conditioning, heating, coffee and tea-making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes. One additional adult or two children under 12 can be accommodated in this room type.

4. 1 X Family House | 4 bedrooms
This private family home is adjacent to the hotel, next to the swimming pool. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms, two with king-size beds and two with queen-size beds.
Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, while the other two share a bathroom. The house has a spacious, open-plan living room, dining room and kitchenette, as well as a large private veranda - an ideal place to relax after a day of exploring or on the golf course.

5. 1 X 2-bedroom family unit
Located in our main building, this unit consists of two interconnecting bedrooms, with access to the second bedroom through the first. Each room has its own bathroom, one complete with separate shower and bathtub, the other with shower only.
The exclusive family unit has a spacious veranda overlooking the gardens and golf course. The unit is equipped with satellite TV, WiFi, telephone, minibar with snacks, air conditioning, heating, coffee and tea-making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes.

6. 1 X Family Cottage - 2 bedrooms
The Family Cottage is a separate house with two bedrooms, each with a Queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom (showers only). The cozy living room has a fireplace, a comfortable sitting area and a kitchen, as well as a private bathroom.

Welcome to our World of Gourmet Cuisine and Austrian Gemütlichkeit!
At the Restaurant, we pride ourselves on cooking with only the freshest, quality ingredients, with as many as possible being locally sourced – some even from our own vegetable garden! Choose delicious mouth-watering dishes from our seasonal à la carte menu which are complemented by a selection of fine South African wines found in our well-stocked wine cellar! Our popular signature Apple Strudel and Pork Belly dishes remain constant as we have many return guests for these.
This together with our professional, personalised and friendly service, in a relaxed countryside-atmosphere provide the perfect dining experience. Oliver’s Restaurant is a family-friendly restaurant with a dedicated kiddies menu and outdoor play area for our smaller guests.
For us, food is our passion and our overriding philosophy aligns with that of Virginia Woolf’s, ‘That one cannot think well, love well or sleep well if one has not dined well.’ This philosophy is carried through to the ‘fun dining experience’ of raclette and fondue which is hosted in our private wine cellar.

Wellness and Beauty
An idyllic setting for relaxation, regeneration, replenishment and revitalization! Situated on the first floor, our on-site Wellness & Beauty Centre offers a panoramic view of the surrounding farmlands, river and golf course. The perfect setting for relaxation, revitalization and rejuvenation. The Wellness centre has two couples massage rooms, two rooms for face and body treatments, a dedicated room for waxing, an indoor manicure and pedicure station as well as an additional pedicure station on our veranda which offers spectacular views, a firm favourite with our regular clients. The spacious Wellness area can easily cater for pamper parties, bridal showers, a birthday surprise or provide the opportunity for a group of friends to relax and unwind whilst being spoilt together!
