La Casetta is located in Spello, a splendid little Umbrian village of very ancient origins whose beauty and charm have earned it, rightly, to be part of the "Borghi più belli d'Italia" (the most beautiful villages in Italy), an association that identifies a limited number of villages that have been able to enhance their historical and artistic heritage and preserve a perfect architectural harmony between past and present.
Located within the ramparts, the property is accessed via a quiet lane leading to the historic center of the village which is characterized by perfectly maintained and flowered little streets, and lively little squares with excellent restaurants and wine bars.
Description
The owner has restored this delightful apartment with the class and good taste that distinguishes her, creating a refined, modern and comfortable atmosphere. From the lane, a covered passage equipped with a bench, colorful cushions and coat racks leads to the 100 m2 private garden overlooking the surrounding houses and the lane, equipped for meals outside with a shaded table, benches and deckchairs to relax in the sun. A French window gives access to the accommodation.
The windows offer a suggestive view of the alley, and from the balcony of the double bedroom there is a magnificent view of the hills and the valley that extends to the foot of the village. The charm and conveniences of the property make it a truly enchanting refuge equipped with all comforts (air conditioning in all rooms, satellite TV, washing machine/dryer).
The owner will give guests arriving by car a card reserved for residents allowing them to park 50 meters from the house. It is forbidden to smoke inside the house.
For larger groups, up to 15 people, it is possible to jointly book a nearby house, belonging to the same owners and able to accommodate up to 6 people and another house. The two houses are separated by a low wall and a small alley.

The moment we entered la Casetta we knew we had found something very special. Our hostess welcomed us with fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, a bottle of local wine & had supplied a "book" with extremely helpful suggestions about local restaurants, shopping & activities. We woke in the mornings to a magnificent view from the french doors to the Umbrian valley below. The spacious, herb filled garden was a great place to relax & read a book in the comfortable lounges , whilst the grapevine covered terrace with table & chairs was just the place to have our fresh pasta & a glass of "vino". There is a very good restaurant around the corner called il Cacciatore with a large outdoor terrace overlooking the valley which serves traditional local food & wine. The town square is only a 5 minute walk away and has food & wine shops, art galleries, restaurants, post office, local buses. There is also a car hire facility. Spello is a good base from which to explore Umbria with towns like Foligno, Perugia, Assisi, Bevagna etc not far away. In summary I cannot recommend La Casetta highly enough. It has a charming and inviting atmosphere, fabulous views, gorgeous garden & terrace with thoughtful inclusions such as a a great selection of shopping baskets to choose from on your way to the village
