Stayed September 2017 Manuel's family and staff are very fine people. They were patient and extremely helpful with my large group of people. The property is beautiful and very well represented by the photos on the site, and I hope to be able to visit again.

Stayed November 2017 It's hard to figure out where to begin... Puerto Viejo was our first stop after arriving in Costa Rica. After a 5 hour car ride from San Jose, we were greeted by this incredible jungle retreat. The statues at the entrance welcome you to what will be an amazing stay that is just the right distance from civilization. When we arrived, Maya gave us a tour of the place and we were good to go. The view from the property is breathtaking.... The kitchen and living room are completely open to the outdoors. The master bedroom has a set of double doors that open which is amazing if you happen to wake up before sunrise... Make a cup of coffee, open the doors, lay back, and wait for the jungle to wake up. None of the rooms have actual windows but that's not a problem. Late at night, the jungle sings you to sleep. The temperatures were very nice the entire time we were there and we stopped using A/C in the car while we were there so we would stay acclimated to the weather. If you are scared of bugs, this might not be the place for you. There are a lot of beetles, leaf bugs, preying mantis, etc. wandering around. They aren't bothersome at all but if you don't like them or are afraid of them, they will be very noticeable. Mia, the dog is the protector of the property. She barks a big game but if you rub her belly, she will love you for the entire stay. The only other thing I would note is that this is pretty far from the more populated parts of town. If you are looking to enjoy the busier nightlife, you will probably want to have a sober driver. The taxi's begin charging from where they start so if it comes from Puerto Viejo, you will pay for it to drive from Puerto Viejo -> you -> Puerto Viejo so it's not very cost effective. Finally, don't use the Address that AirBnB gives you to navigate. It will take you too far. Manual will send you an instruction sheet for how to find the property. Overall, My entire group and I highly recommend this place! Thanks Manuel and Maya! We had an amazing time!

Stayed december 2017 Wow! What an incredible experience!!! The house is by far the best in the area and one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. If you like the outdoors, open space, views, and wildlife it is par to none. Manuel, maya and their team are the most friendly, accommodating, and patient hosts we have met. Thank you again Manuel and maya !

Stayed mars 2018 This property is breath-taking. It sits at the top of a hill, surrounded by rainforest, toucans, howler monkeys and parrots, but with a spacious lawn and gorgeous views of the ocean from every room, even the bathrooms! The pictures barely do it justice. The open air main house has a fully equipped kitchen that allowed us to cook for and feed a group of 15+. And the main house has all kinds of flexibility...we turned into a yoga studio in the morning, a dining room by day and a movement/dance space at night. Manuel is VERY responsive to our needs and answered all the questions that allowed us to make sure we'd have what we needed for our retreat guests. Though, leave plenty of time for your questions, as it sometimes took a few days to get a response (and visa versa). The only thing that was a bit of a surprise given the description, was the distance and walk to the beach. It is more than 10m, and something only the fittest members of the group could do as the walk was up and down a very steep hill and took more like 15+min depending on fitness. My rental car WAS able to make it up, which greatly increased my respect for the economy rental car model. Can't say as I've driven that kind of hill before. Chugga, chugga, chugga. We had a great week! Thank-you Manuel and staff!
