Stayed October 2017 Great location, fantastic staff, beautiful area and views : We were part of a large group of people coming to Placencia, Belize for a wedding. Not everyone was able to stay at the same location. In fact, we moved to this resort after one night from a place 30 minutes north that we did not like. (Salty Hawg rental home, see separate review). The resort is located on the Caribbean sea side of the Placencia Peninsula. It's roughly a 10 minute golf cart ride into Placencia Village, which is the main town on the peninsula with the most restaurants and shops. Like the rest of Belize, the resort is on the rustic side for a Caribbean resort in my experience. We have visited resorts all over the Mayan Rivera for decades but this was our first time in Belize. I found that there are few, if any, resorts in in Belize like those in the Mayan Rivera, particularly all inclusive resorts, except incredibly expensive ones—at least that I could find. Given that, we loved this resort. The room we had was good. The A/C was not working when we first arrived but they fixed it right away and it worked fine after that. They told us they had another room ready for us to move in to if the A/C was not to our satisfaction, but we did not need to do that. Our room had incredible views of the Caribbean Sea from the balcony! It had a great shower and a comfortable bed. Working A/C, comfy bed, awesome views, great shower. That’s about all I need. The fresh water pool was awesome. Deep, refreshing and with streams of water falling into the pool from a trellis. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us make our stay great. This pool became the main hangout spot for family visiting for the wedding. This included family who were not staying at the resort—and they were totally cool with that which was much appreciated. The only thing Roberts Grove lacked was a great swimming beach. Off the main part of the resort where we were staying and where the pool we liked was located, there was no ocean access for swimming. The shoreline was edged with rocks to prevent erosion. We were able to go out on the dock and jump in there and swim which was very nice. The ocean there was not too deep and had a nice sandy bottom making it easy and comfortable to hang out on. The dock has a wooden ladder making it easy to get out of the water. There was some beach area in a section of the resort that was under construction but there was seaweed on shore and it looked rocky in the water off the shore line so we did not go over there. The food was good and reasonably priced. The lack of a great beach is the only thing that kept me from giving this resort a 5-star rating.

Stayed September 2017 We recently stayed here with another couple for our first ever visit to Belize! Let me start by saying... we have found our new paradise! The country, the people, the natural beauty have won my heart! We will be coming back! We stayed at this resort for the entire vacation and would come back here easily again. The staff from start to finish were superb! Although it was the slow season, we felt very pampered and special like we were the only people there. Henry was always attentive to our needs and gave great recommendations for excursions, restaurants etc...The restaurants on site were delicious~ complimentary breakfast that's included is filling and changed every day. The rooms, pools, grounds were always clean and well groomed. They came in every day and cleaned and also provided a turn down service that included cookies :) We rented a golf cart to go into Placencia one evening (approx. 15min ride)~ I would recommend this! We would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to experience Belize in a warm and family oriented environment.
