The estate is both a working farm dating back to 1839 and a private, family-run guest house. We pride ourselves on offering visitors a unique experience in a welcoming environment. We also place great value in our staff, as a result you’ll find that everyone is actively responsible for making your stay memorable. We want you to feel like you’re in a private home – but with no obligation to your hosts. And as our guest, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of, down to the last detail.
You will discover a tranquil retreat that offers something for everyone from honeymoon couples to solo travellers and large family groups. With this in mind we have two restaurants on the estate: One caters for families and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; while our more formal option is open for dinner, and caters to adults only.
Breakfast is included in the room rate. We also have experienced babysitters, who need to be booked in advance at an additional cost.
The Mountain views cottages:
Each of our 5 family-friendly Mountain View Cottages are conveniently situated close to the restaurant and kids play area, making them perfect for families travelling with younger children. Two of the cottages can accommodate four people with a main bedroom and an adjoining room with two single beds. The other three come with a Queen-size bed but are spacious enough to accommodate extra mattresses and camp cots should our family cottages be unavailable.
Decorated in elegant English country style with soft colours, comfortable furniture and the warmth of wood underfoot, they all lead out onto the garden and offer mountain views from every window. Each cottage is equipped with a full bathroom that includes a bath and shower.

All our rooms are set amongst an olive grove, vineyards, rolling lawns and extensive gardens with access to the hotel’s swimming pool and tennis court. There is also a scenic Mountain trail available for use by hotel guests. We also have an extensive library with board games and boule sets as well as a library of DVD’s.
We can supply mattresses, children’s camp cots, microwaves, DVD players (with access to our DVD library), all at an additional nominal cost.
We're big on special events… we’re happy to host weddings, parties, dinners and formal or informal receptions. Our wedding venue can host a ceremony and reception for up to 85 guests and our estate can accommodate up to 28 guests. There is also a wide variety of accommodation options available for additional guests within a 10km radius of the estate. Use the hotel and estate to suit your occasion and we’ll make it happen, ensuring that your special day is unforgettable.

We returned to this part of South Africa after many years, and we were delighted to enjoy staying here once again. The quiet location, with stunning views, and high standards kept by this friendly family run small hotel, make it a MUST stay place. The rooms are all large and beautifully decorated with their own patios and comfortable loungers/chairs. The staff are well trained and very cheerful. The breakfast excellent. Lots to do in the area . Golf in Hermanus. Riding on the next door farm, or Anton can organise THE best beach ride (3hrs) you will probably ever do! We all wish we had stayed longer.

This is a very comfortable family run hotel in a fabulous setting. The staff and management of the hotel are both unbelievably welcoming and helpful. The food is excellent and the hotel is perfect for families.
