The 18th Century Manoir des Bernoux is situated 60 kms to the South of Perigueux, 20 kms from Bergerac and a mile or so from the picturesque medieval market town of Issigeac, in the heart of the Bastides and Chateaux country of the Southern Perigord. The river Dordogne flows a few miles to the North.
The terrace has a full set of teak garden furniture, with a barbecue area and a fountain.
Swimming pool (12m x 6m) with safety alarm.
There is a further terrace in front of the pool-house.
All weather tennis court.
We hope that guests will take advantage of their stay at Les Bernoux to visit the magnificient country of the Perigord, with its hundreds of fortified towns, abbeys and castles, and the richest sites of prehistoric remains in Europe, including the incomparable painted caves of Lascaux and Pech Merle. We will be happy to assist in planning itineraries and to offer advice to help you enjoy your stay to the fullest.
The vineyards of the Bergeracois, Pecharmant and Monbazillac are within a few minutes drive, while an hour to the West lies Saint-Emilion and, beyond, the great wine producers of the Bordeaux region.
In neighbouring Issigeac, where a lively farmers’market is held every Sunday, there are shops, a Post Office, restaurants, a bank, chemist and medical centre.
Sporting activities available nearby include horse-riding, hiking, canoeing, parachuting and there are three golf courses within 20 miles. |
