The legendary Yucatecan, Manuel G. Canton Ramos, built Casa Esperanza during the 1890's, not as a hotel, but, originally as his private luxurious residence. The famous architectural engineer also built Merida's renowned landmark, the impressive Canton Palace, now the city's Mayan Anthropology Museum.

The beautiful French inspired mansion features; eighteen-foot ceilings, columns, arches, floral moldings, original stain glass windows, and hand painted tiles throughout. Fresh light décor abounds with tasteful furnishings, sumptuous fabrics & linens, & our unique whimsical collection of art & antiques.
